In Bisexual Characters in Film, Wayne M. Bryant asserts that “Films that do not portray bisexuals as psychotic killers often show them as victims instead”, and this lecture will develop that claim in terms of a BBC dramatization (2002) of the murder mystery No Night Is Too Long (1994) by Barbara Vine. The film th exemplifies the ways that, since the early 19 century, bisexuality has become, in dominant and in queer cultures, the ultimate rebellious stance. Lady Caroline Lamb described her bisexual lover George Gordon, Lord Byron—“Mad, Bad and Dangerous to Know” – the cultural stereotype that has stretched from Lord Byron to James Byron Dean and beyond.
