Nádherná, naivní dívka jménem Butch a její společnice Claudia jsou zajaty Královnou. Ta ztratila svůj drahocenný „poklad“, bez kterého nemůže dosáhnout orgasmu, a přesvědčí Butch, aby se vydala na moře poklad hledat. A zatím bude držet Claudii jako rukojmí, než se Butch s pokladem vrátí. Claudii se však podaří na loď proklouznout. Začíná daleká cesta po širém moři. Při bouři ztroskotají, shodou okolností na ostrově, kde se má poklad nacházet. Podaří se Butch úspěšně dokončit svěřený úkol?
Režisérka Ileana Pietrobruno do schématu pirátských příběhů obsadila ženy a pohrála si s maskulinitou a feminitou, s rozdělením sexuálních rolí a genderovou identitou. Zabývá se vztahy mezi butch a femme, což je odlišení lesbických žen podle vzhledu a chování. Současně ale neztrácí smysl pro humor a zábavu. Chcete-li vidět vzrušující, podmanivý a dráždivý příběh, odehrávající se v překrásném prostředí moře a pláží, neváhejte, Girl King je tím pravým.
A beautiful and naive young woman named Butch, and Claudia, her companion, are taken hostage by the Queen who has lost her treasure, without which she cannot have an orgasm. The Queen sends Butch to the sea to look for the treasure, and meanwhile, she will keep Claudia hostage. But Claudia slips out to the ship, and a long voyage begins. They shipwreck near the island where the treasure is supposed to be. Will Butch complete the task given by the Queen? Ileana Pietrobruno, the director, cast women into the framework of pirat stories to plaz with masculinities, feminities, sexual roles and gender identities, as well as the buch-femme dynamic, while not losing her sense of humor and wit, and managing to create an intriguing story shot in the attractive setting of the sea and beaches.
