Carla Despineux

Since 1989 working in FEMINALE, International Women’s Film Festival Cologne; Co-founder of the festival’s programme section „Queer Looks“, which presents a wide panorama of lesbian film, queer experiments and the latest of the transgender scene. Among others: presentations of films in the context of exhibitions in the Kunstmuseum Bonn; Director of FEMINALE 2000; Director of the Children‘s and Youth Film Competition, 50th International Short Film Festival Oberhausen, 2004. She has made documentaries for TV, written film critics and published a book on film.

Vladimír Hrubý

Studied Pedagogy, but his teaching career did not last long – after five years, he created a touring dance group. Another career shift came along when he started working in radio stations, focusing on reporting from the Parliament. He created and moderated the gay and lesbian show BonaDea for the biggest Czech radio station, Radiožurnál. He is one of the most prominent gay rights activists and same-sex marriage lobbyist in the country.

Jason Plourde

The Programming Director of Three Dollar Bill Cinema, which produces the Seattle Lesbian and Gay Film Festival. He‘s been with that organization since it‘s first year in 1996, and prior to that was Co-director of the Connecticut Lesbian & Gay Film Festival. He has moderated workshops on queer cinema and, with filmmaker Sean West, he produced and directed the documentary Herold’s Home Movies. He also works as an ASL (American Sign Language) interpreter.
