The Other Kind of Blue
“Blue conquers the geography of human geographies”, blue is “the blood of sensitivity”, or even “the frost” slowly devastating the lives of Jarman’s friends, who like him are succumbing to AIDS.
The exhibition The Other Kind of Blue presents Jarman’s legendary autobiographical opus, together with a selection of his experimental films and short videos (Angelic Conversations, Glitterbug, and music clips). Complementing these, the exhibition will display the works of Darina Alster, Radim Labuda and Tamara Moyzes, as reactions to Jarman’s theatrical sensuality, formal experimentalism and his politicization of his own homosexuality.
