A Linguistic (De)construction of Sexual Identity

The lecture focuses on the politics of labels in the hetero-normative context. Is linguistic deconstruction of sexual identity possible? If so, what means make it possible? Is the word queer one of the possibilities? If so, is this word capable of changing the hetero-normative discourse? Is it possible to change words and labels and can these changed words then change reality? The focus will thus be not only on the linguistic facet of this issue but also on the various socio-political aspects of the social consequences of meaning.
