History of Queer Representation or Warming in the History of Art
Lecture by Milena Bártlová
The lecture concerns questions asked about fine art of the past and can be answered only with difficulty. Does it make sense to differentiate between works according to the sexual orientation of their creators or would that betray the only sensible division between good and bad art? Does the queer art of bygone times, before homosexuality was structured as a social position, exist? Does queer orientation of the artist show only in works where the iconography functions with an erotic topic or in all of their work? What is the difference in social position between queer and heterosexual artists?
Lecture in Czech.
