On Art with Labels
Female, male, gay or lesbian art. What do such descriptions and attributes tell us?

Do they blur our view or refine it? And who identifies themselves with it – the artist or perhaps the viewer? What are these labels good for? What do we imagine when using the terms ”gay and lesbian art“? Is ”this“ art present in the Czech culture? Are galleries open to this or are there some “buts“? If not, what are the counter arguments? What gives us the right to say what is acceptable and what is not – the time, the social custom or even an individual? And what about art without an attribute? Can we do it?
