Ney York Memories
A legendary artist and unmistakable personality of queer cinema, Rosa von Praunheim (his retrospective was shown at MEZIPATRA 2008), returns to New York City after 20 years, reminding himself, the viewers and the protagonists from that time of his documentary Survival in New York. While thinking back about the sexual freedom and wildness of the 70’s, the director links his personal story with an examination of how the beating heart of the city that never sleeps has changed and with sharp political commentary from the perspective of past years.
