1.11. Vernisáž výstavy fotografií Libuše Jarcovjákové: T-clu
The vernissage of the photographs of Libuše Jarcovjáková – T-club started with the introductory word of Evžen Sobek, guardian of Galerie Artistů, and with the presence of Ms. Džamila Stehlíková, minister for human rights.
The exhibition includes photographs from known semi-official gay club, from the years 1983-1985. It documents the world, on which the author herself says: “In the family atmosphere, Prague, Czechoslovak, East European as well as foreign currency gay community met there every day. Sardonic laugh as well as true tears. Profound discussion as well as light coquetry. Relations for one night as well as the love for the whole life. Nice young men, nice young women, twisted “B´s” as well as respectable looking gentlemen, leaping aside from their families. Footballers, waiters, taxi drivers and most likely also members of security police. Shop assistants from chemist’s, postmaster and train conductor. Girls from the hotel Jalta finished their night shift there. Those “belonging to the family” could enter. Gapers were not invited, chucker-out did not allow the entry to everybody. Downstairs, everybody knows everybody. Age is not an illness, age is tolerated. Mare head, Lady Baggy, The Glazier Lady, Mr. Lemon, Mr. Rattle, Mr. Rucksack, Madam Babble - all of them were here nearly every day....“
